7 Tips to Help Sore Feet

Your feet work hard! They not only carry you, but the shopping, backpacks, kids… they support your entire wellbeing. The health and comfort of your feet affects other areas of your body too, including your back, neck, legs, and hips.

Working on fallen arches, or plantar fasciitis heel pain can be rough, which is why we’ve put together some helpful tips to care for your feet.

1. Have a Foot Soak

Magnesium or sea salt is great for the body and these minerals are best absorbed through the feet. There is nothing better than a foot soak in some hot water at the end of a big day. Relax with a book and your favourite drink and your feet and body will thank you!

2. Of Course, Wear Good Shoes!

Comfort is king. Walking on fallen arches, or enduring plantar fasciitis can be helped with some orthopedic shoes for women. At revere Shoes, we have a wide range of fashionable shoes for orthotics, orthotic sandals, and flat shoes for women.

Your shoes should never pinch or hurt! Our comfort shoes maximise support, and the adjustable shoes with Velcro straps mean you can easily adjust them for a perfect fit.

3. Limit the Amount of Time You Stand

If you are on your feet all day, try to find time in the middle of the day to take a break and sit down. If you have fallen arches, or experience plantar fasciitis, it’s a good idea to rest periodically.

4. Have a Regular Pedicure

This can be done at home -  but if you go to a salon you will get a foot massage as part of the process. Nothing beats a massage for relaxation - and it will help boost circulation in your feet. This in turn helps to beat swelling and puffiness. Plus, your feet will look fantastic!

5. Consider Using an Inversion Table

These devices are designed so that you hang from the ankles. They can be purchased quite inexpensively and allow for the weight of your body to be alleviated from your feet. They take some getting used to, but the benefits can be huge, particularly in relation to your feet, legs, and back. Start with just a minute or two and work your way up to 10 minutes a day.

6. Book a Reflexology Session

Reflexology is an ancient practice which not only feels great for your feet, it also targets specific problem areas of the body. Many people find it highly beneficial for overall health and relaxation.

7. Use Heel Lifts and Other Orthopaedics When Needed

An orthopaedist can custom make devices to help you if you have specific problems with your feet. This includes heel lifts which are made for use when one leg is longer than the other.

If you look after your feet you will find that they look after you! Good orthopedic shoes for women will help alleviate discomfort from your feet.
